Alt. Créatif was born on the southern coast of Kenya after watching musicians perform at the Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa as a way to stimulate mental health in hospital patients. It was born out of a need for Alternative viewpoints and practices in a myriad of Institutions and Industries. Arts & Entertainment including Music, Film and TV, The Non-Profit Sector, Educational Technology & Various Start Ups. Through Alt. Créatif Tasneem’s main goal is to help you foster an environment where Inclusion, Gender equality, Mental health, Wellness and Acceptance can thrive. Where conversations and change can begin to shift workplace culture and ideas. As a music producer Mentor at Artscape Daniels Launchpad in Toronto Tasneem discovered a secret power buried within. Empowering women and non-binary musicians to disrupt the system by sharing the experiences they have had in the industry for the last 15 years. Tasneem began moderating difficult conversations among Music Industry folks in Toronto and created a space for support where Launchpad Members ideas could grow. Tasneem has analyzed scripts for playwrights & writers for Film and Television. They have consulted on Media projects where their identity culture and experience helped make each project more well rounded inclusive and authentic. Tasneem’s area of expertise include but are not limited to:
